In our modern American society, we seem to have less and less time to accomplish more and more. Especially for young families or single parents, each day brings more tasks, more challenges. Among those who want to increase their income potential by getting an education, who has time to start a five-year effort to get a “four-year” (bachelor) degree? (Most students take more than four years for this undergraduate degree.) This is probably why great numbers of students across the country are turning to Associates Degrees, which generally require about two years.
West Virginia Business College is the original two-year college in the Mountain State, having been founded in 1881. To stay in business for over 130 years, a college must consistently provide positive outcomes for its students and graduates.
1. A predictable, preset time in which classes occur
The vast majority of day classes are held between 9AM and 1:55PM, and all evening classes are held between 6PM and 9:55PM. This is especially convenient for those who have children and/or work certain hours.
2. Small class sizes
This is very beneficial for those who need some individual attention and need to ask questions in order to learn. As of this writing, WVBC averages less than 10 students per class. There is time for student-instructor interaction, and students do not feel like “a number” on an impersonal list.
3. Individual help face-to-face when filling out complicated forms like those for financial aid
Students at large impersonal universities often are totally on their own when doing and submitting these, but at WVBC a qualified financial aid officer sits down with each and every applicant and answers any questions, avoiding the danger of the student not receiving financial aid because of mistakes on the application. Financial Aid is available for those who qualify.
4. Career placement assistance
All graduates of WVBC receive FREE assistance in finding a good job, courtesy of a Career Services Rep whose primary effort is focused on helping graduates to obtain and keep good employment. This effort goes on for the LIFE of the graduate; if a grad loses a job for any reason, he/she is welcome to return to the college and receive further assistance to find a new position.
These are only a few of the reasons why those who want a good education should look into West Virginia Business College. For over 130 years, the College has consistently delivered an excellent educational experience.
